First DataBank announces partnership with Australian GP system provider, Stat Health Systems

First DataBank (FDB) has announced a new partnership with Australian GP system provider, Stat Health Systems, to integrate its drug knowledge base and active clinical decision support.
Stat Health Systems has recently launched its product, Stat, in the Australian primary care market. Stat is a fully integrated clinical and practice management system incorporating electronic prescribing, clinical decision support and billing administration.
FDB provides Stat with drug data and clinical decision support. The integration of FDB’s drug database provides users of Stat with concise and relevant drug data in a consistent format which can be used as a clinical reference tool.
FDB’s clinical decision support helps reduce the risk of medication errors by providing active clinical checking at the point of prescribing. When a GP wishes to prescribe a medication, FDB’s clinical decision support provides a range of checks against the patient’s Electronic Health Record including drug-drug interactions, contraindications and precautions, sensitivities and duplicate therapy. An on-screen alert is generated if there are potential clinical problems.
