The Australian Drug Catalogue (ADC) is a database of Australian medications from different sectors, which have been reviewed and comply with standard naming conventions. The ADC is linked to standard Australian identifiers and concepts, to include PBS, CMI, APN, supplier data (PDE), as well as First DataBank's International Drug Information Framework (iDIF) identifiers.
The ADC contains full PBS data to support prescribing and claiming of PBS items. ADC updates are scheduled so that timely delivery of monthly PBS data updates is possible. One of our key tasks is being aware of and prepared for changes to PBS and associated legislation, such as the 2009 ICSP Chemotherapy supply changes.
FDB Australia supports NeHTA's standards and initiatives and will be providing links to Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT) data as soon as AMT is released for clinical use.
