The Regional Drug Catalogue is built upon a framework that supports catalogue items from multiple countries, as well as the display of text in multiple languages, multiple terminology sets, and can also offer synonyms.
We recognise that standards and best practices in the descriptions of drugs, routes of administration, dosage forms quantities, volume and strengths will differ from region to region, so we have an editorial policy for each region that ensures consistent and appropriate naming practices.
The RDC also supports multiple languages within a region, allowing nomenclature to be changed at any point, while retaining the clinical identifiers used for clinical decision support.
